"I've had packages delivered
to my door from A.C.E., the NSCA, and the NCSF. I've had the
ISSA offer to throw in a free CD and a $50 rebate if I "joined
today". The I.A.R.T. earned my respect with down-to-earth
intelligence and professionalism. Prepare to embark on a journey
that will educate, empower, and strengthen your muscles as well
as your spirit. And learn what it means to truly EARN your certification."

Sanctioned by Arthur Jones (see special note at the bottom of this
page), this course is an 'education' certification for personal
trainers that involves the man's life work, from the advent of
Nautilus to the rehabilitation discoveries of MedX research (www.CoreSpinalFitness.com).
The exam process involves short answer, essay questions, and
experiments in which you conduct and develop, and which reflect
Arthur's observations that have spanned over forty years. Become
certified in the original HIT methods as developed by Arthur
Jones. Topics to be tested and contemplated include:
- Problems with unidirectional
resistance
- Variable resistance and muscle
shortening relationships
- The ten required factors for
full range resistance, and the most important factors in exercise
- Proper structure and organization
of a workout, as well as the logical basis for full-body training
- Requirements/factors (aside
from exercise) to induce growth stimulation
- The relationship between strength
and muscular bulk
- Problems associated with the
total tonnage system
- The "indirect effect"
and the "double progressive" method
- Developing optimum flexibility
and cardiovascular conditioning with strength training
- The purpose and value of pre-exhaustion
- Why the first repetition of
a set is the most dangerous, and why the last repetition is the
safest
- Why people should train to failure
for optimum progress
- Angle of pull, muscle size,
and aspect ratios
And much, much more. How valid
were and are Arthur Jones' ideas? Some of them, such as exercise
volume, are discussed in this article: http://www.asep.org/jeponline/issue/Doc/Dec2004/Smith.doc

As well, students will be required
to conduct experiments dealing with Type S and G strength
curve concepts, the AE Factor, and negative-only and negative-accentuated
exercise. And, students will demonstrate proper intense training
methods, a la Arthur Jones, by video-taping a full body workout
with him/her self, or with a client. (Note: This personal trainer
certification does NOT teach you how to implement and use MedX
rehabilitation testing machines, how to interpret strength curves,
etc.)
Today we are inundated with explosive
kettlebell and barbell training and balance ball hoopla, methods
of exercise that are both potentially dangerous (particularly
long-term to the joints and connective tissues) and far less
effective than the methods and principles developed by Arthur
Jones thirty years ago. This personal trainer course was designed
to teach those principles and the historical perspective of the
Arthur Jones Legacy. If you have ever wondered about the effectiveness
of brief, intense training, what it is about, how it should be
applied and its roots, then this personal trainer course is a
must and uses the learning materials direct from the "master"
himself.
$592.50 Canadian funds (includes learning
materials [900+ page hardcover book] and shipping in the continental
North America; $100 Canadian discount for those who own the Arthur
Jones Collection, as sold through this site). Course costs
are one-time only; we work with you until you meet our standards
of excellence of competency and full understanding.
